Albert Saphir is a consultant with over 25 years of
management experience in international air and ocean
freight forwarding, domestic and international transportation
management, domestic and international parcel shipping,
and benchmarking, logistics and supply chain analysis
and customs security compliance.
He has worked in sales and operations management positions
for multi-national logistics companies such as Danzas
(now known as DHL Danzas Air & Ocean), Panalpina
and Geologistics, and was Vice President and a partner
for regional companies during his career in freight
forwarding in Germany and the U.S.
He consults to domestic and international manufacturers,
distributors, importers, exporters and global transportation
companies on supply chain and transportation security
issues. His work focuses on transportation negotiations
and procurement, value analysis, freight and audit/billing
management for all modes of domestic or international
transport. In addition, he provides customs compliance
reviews including NAFTA qualifications, supply chain
security support including complete C-TPAT program development
and other aspects of the U.S. Customs And Border Protection
(CBP) security initiatives. Further areas of expertise
include global transportation research, business development,
training seminars and ISO 9000-2000 assistance.
In addition to Solertis, Albert works with The Colography
Group (www.colography.com)
providing market research and consulting services primarily
focused on LTL trucking, package/parcel carrier services
and intermediaries/freight forwarders to both providers
and users of such services as well as customized research
and project work for senior management. He is a senior
advisory board member of the Trade Security Institute
(www.tradesecinstitute.com).
He has done extensive work related to global trade security
initiatives such as CBP C-TPAT, Advance Manifest Rules
(AMS), ISPS and the FDA Bioterrorism Act (BTA) for clients
that include small to multinational companies.
He holds the German equivalent of a BS in International
Transportation, is fluent in German and is a licensed
U.S. Customs Broker and active in multiple industry
associations including the National Industrial Transportation
League (NITL), Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals
(CSCSMP), German-American Chamber of Commerce and various
local Atlanta transportation association. Additionally
he is a full committee member of the NITL air, ocean
and security committees.
Albert Saphir has been a frequent presenter, panelist
and participant at multiple industry conference events,
including NTIL Security Seminars, Eyefortransport Cargo
Security Conference, WBCF Transportation Security Symposium,
JoC Breakbulk Conference and Atlanta Air Cargo &
Maritime Associations workshops.
